Masami, Rina, and Sugimura have yet to be revived for the franchise and this would be a good opportunity. The events at the hospital are the work of Martuba's Tomb.
General fandom expectations are that the Dead Patient project is related to the spiritual surgery mentioned in Corpse Party: Blood Drive. In that game, spiritual surgery was a research area by Martuba's Tomb and the technique used to create Satsuki Mizuhara. It was also used earlier in the Dollies drama cd to revive Naho Saenoki after a battle with Magari Mizuki (which would tie into her mention of ghost therapy in the first game). At the end of Blood Drive, Magari promised Kuon Niwa that Martuba's Tomb would stop spiritual surgery practices. However, upon Magari's return after dealing with Heavenly Host Elementary, many of the cult had left. It is therefore expected that the (current) Dead Patient project is by a splinter faction that does not recognize Magari's authority anymore. What is happening at the hospital especulation.
The main purpose of the attackers is to carry out experiments whose main purpose is to succesfully resurrect people. Hence the Dead Patient Ayame (the method used might have been based on the spiritual surgery technique from the Martuba Tomb, or be a different technique entirely). The crazed woman in red "might" be related somehow to Sachi, Sachiko's twin sister (Demonic Possesion maybe)- As Ayumi saw her at the end of Blood Drive. If Sayaka Shinohara's dissapearence is finally explained in this game,it might have something to do with having been used as a guinea pig (AKA she probably was killed). Also, based on the presence of the Everafter Stones in the Drama CD of Dead Patient Volume 2, they will become important later in the story. The events of the hospital are probably amplified (or completely caused) by the Nirvana itself, as Ayumi and Yoshiki appeared in the intro. The appearance of zombies "MIGHT" be related to secondary effects of the spell Ayumi casted at the end of Blood Drive to restore the existence of her dead friends- or/and Yoshiki choosing to stay with Ayumi and help her eat the Nirvana. Yoshiki and Satoshi will meet somewhere in the hospital
.It's possible that Yoshiki and Satoshi will bump in each other during the incident, and Yoshiki will end up telling him that they were friends, but everybody forgot when he swallowed part of the Nirvana- So eventually they'll end up teaming up in trying to survive.
