But it's not in medicine. He has savant-like ability in a very specific sub-discipline of physics, math, or some other deeply abstract discipline that never gets addressed in the show. Because he's still extremely clueless he thinks this qualifies him to play a medical doctor and give health advice.- Every time Steve says "I know..." he is actually completely lucid and aware of the information presented.
