[[WMG:Giro is Actually [[ThoseWackyNazis Hitler]] reincarnated as a wolf.]]
* Think about it. They both have a loyal regime behind them (Giro: The wolf Pack. Hitler: The Nazi party.), both are missing part of a bodily pair (Giro: Missing an ear. Hitler: Missing a Family Jewel), and both have a deep hatred of a certain group (Giro: Goats. Hitler: Jews.)

[[WMG: The entire movie was a metaphor for the fight between the Soviets and the Nazis.]]

[[WMG: The Emerald Forest is in the afterlife.]]
* Mei died sometime during the journey. Because of this, Gabu lost all will to live and, eventually, died as well. Somehow, Gabu ended up in the same part of the afterlife as Mei, and now their souls can be peacefully together for all eternity. Sad, but still heartwarming.
** Mei died in the cave,Gabu during the avalanche. They met again at fields next to Emerald Forest ,because it was a limbo (whereas the forest was the heaven).Mei went there and met Gabu, who lost his memory. It was his punishment for the past sins he committed during the life, but because Mei was granted the privilege of living in the forest ,as he was innocent during his life,he could redeem Gabu's soul and he did so,reminding him of the stormy night, after which Gabu only became a better person, showing his kindness and sacrificing himself for the friendship. Thus he was returned his memory and he and Mei could stay together again.
** This makes sense considering in the source they died before the Forest.
*** ...yes and no, because actually, the last book in the series has the very same ending as the movie, guess even the author preferred the happy ending, as [[https://qir.kyushu-u.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2324/21809/1/p209.pdf this article on the book series]] proofs even to the non Japanese speakers

[[WMG: Mei and Gabu will die in the cartoon, like in the book]]
Well, who's to say this adaptation is even more childish than the movie?
** But they never die in the book...

[[WMG: The sheep are owned by someone]]
They seem pretty well kept and Mei has a scarf. They live close enough to human areas apparently.

[[WMG: The CGI serie seems more mature than the movie]]
I believe it. While we see actual blood in the movie, [[spoiler:the serie deals sometimes with deaths almost-in-screen, as the death of a friend of another character. The relationship between May and her mother is shown more than the movie, making the death of the mother even sadder. We see Gabu tempted severals times to eat May, even if they're friends since a while. Gabu is seen more bullied and considered like a dumb by the other wolves, and we see that it bothers him. Sexual assumptions seem less subtle, even for laughs ( see [[Hoyay/ArashiNoYoruNi Ho yay]] page ). Because of May, her herd is forced to move somewhere, and Tapp is really angry against her. Giro is more concerned by the death of Gabu's father. In the same episode, May have a nightmare ( with a little jumpscare ) about Gabu who almost eat her. While we know that the pack of wolves is going to kill Gabu and May, in the serie, wolves said how they are going to kill Gabu ( They intend to dismember him in 8 parts] ). And as the serie explore more the others goats and the relation between May and her grand-mother than in the movie, it's a bit little sadder to know that May surely never see them again, especially her grand-mother.]]
