More Than Comrades is a visual novel produced by Starglove Studios.
You are Dmitri, a guard at Lenin’s Mausoleum. Working the night shift for the first time, you suddenly hear something suspicious from within the building. Upon descending the stairs, you discover that Lenin himself is both awake and alive, planning to travel back in time to “fix up” the Soviet Union...dragging you along in the process.
The biggest hitch in his plans? He's been constructing his wristwatch time machine in the dark, thus it tends to malfunction (much to his chagrin), transporting you both to a fantastic range of times during the USSR's history!
As he tries to fix the machine along the way, you encounter other notable figures- among them Tsar Nicholas II, Josef Stalin, Nikita Khrushchev, Leonid Brezhnev, and Mikhail Gorbachev! Change the course of history by befriending Lenin and aiding his plans, outwit him and keep time stable, or pursue your dream of getting to know another Russian leader.
The choice is yours. With whom will you choose to be more than comrades?
More Than Comrades contains examples of:
- Backwards R: Averted due to the devs actually knowing Russian.
- The Chains of Commanding: Disscussed at various points.
- Changed My Jumper: Lampshaded, then subverted. When you and Lenin first travel through time, someone points out your modern security guard outfit. Then, you obtain some clothing more appropriate for the time period.
- Chromosome Casting: Downplayed. All of the main characters are male, but not all of the minor characters.
- Commie Land: A multitude of periods within it.
