After her old crush returns to town, she gets the chance to undo a drunken promise she made while in her college years.
First Comes Love includes examples of:
- Cast Full of Gay: Lino, his wife Felicia, and Eve are all canonically bisexual. If Blake is female, then she will be explicitly a lesbian (with unique dialogue reflecting this), along with Jodie and implicitly Rebecca.
- Character Customization: The player can choose Blake Marshall's gender and ethnicity, but their first and last name cannot be changed.
- Guile Hero: After Jodie discovers that Blake is dating Rebecca, she is shown to be shallow and manipulative to the point of using her fears and allergies against her even after they drunkenly made a marriage pact.
- Fallback Marriage Pact: It's the plot of the book where Jodie and Blake drunkenly make a marriage pact, but it doesn't turn out the way Jodie had hoped.
- Happily Married: Marcelino and Felicia are happily married after they met in college... and are expecting a baby.
- Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As with all Choices characters, you can name your character. The default name here is Jodie Ballard.
- No Antagonist: Downplayed. Rebecca serves as a romantic rival to Jodie for the first half of the book, but she's not openly antagonistic. By the end of the book, Rebecca has no ill will towards Jodie or Blake whatsoever, and Jodie can remain on somewhat amicable terms with her.
- Old Flame: Blake Marshall is for Jodie. The flames reignited after Blake returned to the city.
- The Reveal: Jodie and Marcelino reveal to Eve the marriage pact she made with Blake. Eve is furious, curses at Jodie and tells her that she will have to deal with Blake's relationship with Rebecca.
- The Rival: Rebecca is Jodie's rival for Blake's love.
