Go To

Apollo Justice: Appeal To Truth is a Ace Attorney fangame written in PyWright by MasqueradeDemure, downloadable here. It centers around an Alternate Continuity where Godot is Apollo's mentor, Maya is a defense attorney, and Phoenix is out of the picture. Also starring is Sebastian Debeste, who is the main rival prosecutor and has shaped himself into a formidable opponent since his previous appearance in Gyakuten Kenji 2. Three out of four cases have been released so far, and progress is being made on the fourth.

Tropes:

  • Alternate Timeline: In this timeline Apollo’s mentor is Godot, Godot is a defence attorney, Maya a defence attorney, and the bad ending of Justice For All is canon.
  • Asshole Victim: Fred Quincey was a blackmailer who had the entire staff of Whimsy World wrapped around his finger. It's no wonder someone decided to off him.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Godot is a defense attorney and Apollo's mentor in this universe. This doesn't make him any nicer.
  • Be as Unhelpful as Possible: Attempted by Cylen in his testimony, which leads to his arrest.
  • Blackmail Backfire: One occurs in case 3, given that the victim was a blackmailer.
  • Closet Geek: Dean let himself be blackmailed over the fact that he likes musicals.
  • Grumpy Old Man: Hal Season is an elderly herbalist who has a lot to say about the world, almost all of it negative.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Edwin Sharp tries to give off an intellectual air by using big words; the fact that he has to look them up, and still misuses them in spite of that, does not help in that regard. There's also the fact that his work is plagiarized.
  • Large Ham: As conductor, Princeton Rails does the announcement for the local train line. He certainly takes to it with aplomb.
  • Meaningful Appearance: Molly sports bangs, owing to her standoffish nature.
  • Mood Whiplash: The initial conversation with Dean in the detention center comes off as this due to the stress he's going through.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Attempted by Edwin Sharp in order to seem knowledgeable. Key word: attempted.
  • Wrench Wench: Molly repairs rides at Whimsy World and even carries around a wrench with her.
  • Wham Line: The post credits scene of Case 3 recites Justice for All’s bad ending word for word, revealing where the divergence of the Alternative Timeline happens.
