The Sun has set, and a Red Order has risen upon Eurasia.

The Red Order: First Days of Eurasia is an upcoming Hearts of Iron IV Game Mod that essentially acts as a spinoff to The New Order Last Days Of Europe: whereas the Axis won World War II in The New Order, The Red Order is set in a world where the Allied Powers defeated the Axis while still sharing a Point of Divergence with the original.

The year is 1962, and since the end of the Second World War, a New, Red Order has fallen upon the world. In America, the victory against the Axis of Evil did not bring upon a new era of peace and American dominance like expected, and turmoil is starting to brew at home. In old Europe, the French and British Empires are desperately trying to cling onto their colonial possessions. And in Eurasia, Premier of the Soviet Union Martemyan Ryutin is getting old, and many fear he is not long for this world. The vanquished nations do not have it too good either: Germany is divided into two republics, each aligned to the Entente and the Soviet Union, and the Kingdom of Italy suffers from political extremism on the left and on the right. In short, the world is in better shape than The New Order's world, but that doesn't mean it is in great shape either.

Just like its inspiration, The Red Order aims to be a narrative-driven mod, and currently has no set release date. Its community can be found here, on Discord, and its dedicated subreddit can be found here.

The Red Order: First Days of Eurasia contains examples of:

  • Alternate History: In this timeline, the Reds defeated the Whites in the Finnish Civil War, Josef Stalin died in the Russian Civil War and Nikolai Bukharin became leader of the Soviet Union, Franklin D. Roosevelt was assassinated in 1939 and succeeded by Joseph P. Kennedy, who led the US until 1945 (driving a big wedge between US-UK relations and resulting in a three-way instead of two-way Cold War like in real life), and Mao Zedong died in World War II and was succeeded by Zhou Enlai (who weakened the CPC to the point it lost the subsequent Chinese Civil War).
  • Balkanize Me:
    • After losing the Second World War, Germany was divided into two republics, the pro-Entente German Federation and the pro-USSR Socialist Republic of Germany, but unlike in real life, the Anschluss was not undone; instead, western Austria is part of West Germany while eastern Austria is the independent Socialist Republic of Austria. Germany's two halves cannot become whole again during the game's timeframe.
    • In the same vein as Germany, Iran got split between a communist North and a capitalist South.
  • Disaster Democracy: The Kingdom of Italy in 1962, while in considerably better shape than both Germany and Japan, is not looking too good either: political extremism from both sides of the spectrum is growing, the people's trust in the King is slowly eroding, and parts of the Kingdom (namely, the Aosta Valley and South Tirol) are occupied by the Great Powers.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: The Union of Sovereign Latin Nations, an alliance of right-wing Hispanic countries, is almost always referred to by its Spanish name Unión de las Naciones Soberanas Latinas (UNSL for short).
  • Lighter and Softer: It's not a perfect world but compared to its source material, it's practically utopia, with the French and British empires being much less evil than Nazi Germany.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: The assassination of Gamal Abdel Nasser under British orders during a much more polarized Suez Crisis causes the complete breakdown of US-UK relations, and sets off the cold war between the ICA and the ECO (who were previously nominal allies).
  • Space Cold War: In the aftermath of the Second World War and the Suez Crisis, a three-way Cold War erupts between the world's three superpowers: the United States, the Soviet Union and the Entente Commonwealth Organisation (an alliance between the United Kingdom and the French Republic).
  • Vestigial Empire: France and Britain are more determined than in our timeline to maintain their colonial empires, and to avoid losing their place as the world's greatest powers to the Soviets or the Americans. However, multiple issues plague their empires, and the whole house of cards could crumble should they take one risk too many.
  • Villain Team-Up: The Entente Commonwealth Organisation is an alliance of the world's two biggest colonial empires, France and Britain, working together to maintain their empires.
