Super Sentai Legend Wars was a mobile app game released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Super Sentai franchise.
The game was released on 5 September 2016, and closed its servers on 31 August 2020.
Tropes
- Adaptation Expansion: Story events are totally non-canon and still consider itself Super Sentai lore.
- An Asskicking Christmas: Sentai Rangers may be made to wear Santa outfits.
- Art Evolution: The 3D models of the Sentai Rangers had been updated over time, to look less and less polygonal.
- Defunct Online Video Games: Sadly, the game didn't make it to its 4th anniversary, and it might have been intentional due to how the Super Sentai Series would change starting on the following year, as well as the start of the 45th Anniversary.
- Guest Fighter: Includes the modern incarnations of Metal Heroes Space Sheriff Gavan, Sekai Ninja Jiraiya and Space Sheriff Shaider, reflecting their appearance in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger VS Space Squad. Also featured contemporary Kamen Riders Ex-Aid, Build & Cross-Z Charge, Zi-O & Geiz, and Zero-One.
- Japanese Holidays: On Golden Week, a Japanese holiday alignment happening on late April-early May, special events with higher droprates were present.
- Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Unites all Sentai from Goranger up to Kiramager, with guest starring Kamen Riders and Metal Heroes.
- Permanently Missable Content: Some cards are completely exclusive to some events, thus never coming back after the event's end.
- Random Number God: This is a free-to-play gacha game after all.
- Valentine's Day Episode: Event-exclusive female Sentai Ranger cards may show themselves as valentines, giving away chocolate as requested by Japanese Holidays' rules.
- Villain Protagonist: The game features a 47th team called "Villains" which consists of Dark Rangers and notorious monster foes throughout the Super Sentai Series. This is in fact a hommage to a 2018 April Fools' Day announcement for a 2099 Super Sentai Villains original drama.
