Singled Out is a game by Matt Glanville released in 2019 for Steam and Nintendo Switch. In it, you have to look at several faces for 10 seconds and try to find an galactic supercriminal based on three facial features (or lack thereof). Shoot/detain the correct one and you can proceed to the next level, don't do it in time or select the wrong target and the game's over. Things get harder as the game progresses, as the number of faces and their similarities increase.

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement System: You can earn up to 18 achievements for beating levels, shooting criminals, reaching a certain score, and four secrets.
  • Adjustable Censorship: You can turn on Family-Friendly Mode which removes blood and only makes you capture the criminal, rather than shoot them.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: The characters can be yellow, orange, red, blue, green... yes, the whole rainbow and then some can be used for their skin color.
  • Evil Laugh: The criminal lets out a laugh of varying deepness if you shoot someone innocent.
  • Shout-Out: The achievements for beating a certain level are named after works with "Level" instead of "Devil". The most obvious one is Level May Cry.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: The galactic supercriminal looks just like the other heads, with the only thing that can identify them being a set of facial features.
  • Timed Mission: Each level has to be beaten within 10 seconds.
