Project Valkyrie Core is a Game Mod for Terra Invicta, set in the world of Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest.
The aim of the mod is to recreate and expand on the world of the quest, with more focus on the politics and global plots than the school hijinks and grunt level conflict that the "main" story involved. Facilitating this is a comprehensive overhaul of most of Terra Invicta's mechanics, including conversion of space stations into arcologies, replacing the Hydra with the Antagonists, new unit fucntions (including Hero Units), and giving all advisors anime portraits.
The mod is currently still in development, and the tropes below are subject to change.
- Hero Unit: Valkyries function as these - they can either exist singularly as Advisors or in groups as military units, with the latter being your best units for fighting the Antagonists.
- Lady Land: Enforced - in addition to Valkyries being female, the Advisors have been overhauled so that they have a 80/20 gender ratio favored toward females, so unless you are choosy and really lucky, you'll invariably have lots of women running the show regardless of who you play as.
- Outside-Context Problem: The Antagonists, and due to the timeline of the mod, this results in Changing Gameplay Priorities and a Genre Shift - the starting date is set years before the Antagonists even arrive, so for the initial parts of a playthrough, the game will focus on political intrigue and conspiracy. Then the Antagonists show up, and you're now in a war for the survival of mankind.
- World of Action Girls: Enforced - Valkyries tend to be female, and they are the best forces you can field against the Antagonists, so expect to have dozens of girls fighting against the invaders.
