The greatest tragedy created from human existence is loneliness.
—First line of the opening narration.

nameless is a hololive Fan Game developed by SK_Jynx, based on Nanashi Mumei's song and music video, "mumei". With gameplay consisting of light platforming and occasional puzzles, the story explores the elements of loneliness, human connection, and self discovery of the MV, as interpreted by the creator.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Expansion: Of "mumei", taking the three minute long music video and turning it into a game that's at least under an hour.
  • Bookends: The first tangible location Mumei treks through is ruins of a town, with broken down concrete buildings. After successfully reuniting with her friend, Mumei treks through the same level, this time populated with small owls resting on the structures.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: Mimicking the art-style of the MV, the settings and backgrounds are grayscale, while the characters consists of solid black and/or white.
  • Forgetful Jones: Played for Drama. Mumei's forgetful nature in canon is played far more seriously here; she goes to find her friend and desperately holding onto memories of her at the cost of remembering herself, and what looks to be Mumei's inner darkness is trying to get them to remember themselves and not bother with things that "don't matter".
  • Nameless Narrative: Justified, since this story's from the perspective of Mumei, the few characters featured, including Mumei herself, aren't given proper names.
  • Rise to the Challenge: Halfway through the industrial underground section, Mumei breaks through the floor below her into a deep pit that starts filling up with water, with her needing to climb and platform her way back up before she ends up drowning.
