The game series was inspired by BallRevamped from Jmtb02, and was the first major game to be created by the troper Mitchell Productions
This game provides examples of:
- Bait-and-Switch Boss: The final boss level has the Face of Sinistrol.. When their HP is down to 50, a cutscene would start, which shows them splitting back into Brilliadus and Noxadus. You would then face Noxadus during the rest of the battle.
- Black Out Basement: Stage 9 will make the walls invisible until the ball activates the light powerup. Unless they are made invisible again by its counterpart.
- Deadly Walls: Touching any wall kills the ball instantly.
- Gravity Screw:
- Stage 2 has the power up that reverses gravity.
- Stage 6 has the power up that will make the ball lose gravity
- Stage 8 has the power up that increases the ball's gravity.
- Malevolent Architecture:
- Stage 5 has walls that Fade In a pattern.
- Stage 7 has moving walls.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: The ball will be sent back to the level's entrance if it touches a wall or another obstacle.
- Poison Mushroom:
- Most of Stage 3 has power ups that will dramatically change the size of the ball.
- Stage 4 has the powerup that will make the ball turn almost invisible.
- Soundtrack Dissonance: Some stages have music that is found as soft and calming despite being difficult and requires paying attention.
- Teleportation:
- Stage 9 introduces portals that take the ball to a specified place, and some will teleport the ball to a trap.
- It is Stage 10's staple. Nearly all of its levels have portals.
- Video-Game Lives: Averted. This game has an infinite amount of lives.
- Unwinnable by Design: Some levels require the player to collect certain powerups to bypass level restrictions, such as the shrink powerup.
