Player beware, you're in for a scare!

Goosebumps is a point-and-click adventure/puzzle game that was released on October 13th, 2015 (3DS and Steam), and October 9th, 2018 (Console versions) and developed by Wayforward Technologies and published by Gamemill Enterainment.

Goosebumps The Game is a direct prequel to the first film about our main character walking home from school after a long day, when they encounters strange monsters on their way back and a towering haunted mansion in replacement of their original house. The player character must solve several puzzles in order to advance the story and stop Slappy from reigning supreme over the world.

Examples

  • Bittersweet Ending: The player character and Stine successfully capture Slappy and the rest of the monsters taking over the town, everything goes back to normal (...Almost) and Stine decides to move to Delaware; leading directly to the film. However, it is revealed that Wally Wood was actually alive this whole time, which would most likely lead to more mayhem amok in the town.
  • Cliffhanger: After everything is taken cared of and Stine departs from the town to go to Madison, Delaware, and after the end credits, it's revealed that Wally Wood was alive this whole time; he then stare directly at us with a rather unnerving Slasher Smile. It would be easily assumed that he'd free his brother and possibly redo the entire thing. But, following suit with the books, this was never brought up or used as a plot, and was more of a spooky twist.
  • Guide Dang It!: It is nearly impossible to finish this game without some help from walkthroughs. The Dead House isn't super hard to get through, but requires you to do a bunch in order to progress through the game. It gets even harder once you make it to the mall, which it'll then require a bunch of backtracking and specific placement in order to get to Slappy; especially during the moment where you have to open the candy store's door behind the counter by putting a certain amount of candy in a bag.
