Flavor Rave is a Friday Night Funkin' mod developed by SirDusterBuster, the same creator of Doki Doki Takeover!, alongside other mod developers and musicians such as Juno Songs, and GGalactigal. The mod was developed for the Turtle Pal Tapes Funk Jam, where the challenge was to create a mod within a week with the theme of contrast, with this mod winning first place.

The Underground EDM Star, Sour, and the lady of the orchestra, Sweet, both find themselves booked at the same venue due to a mix-up with the schedule, with neither party being pleased with the circumstances. Will both parties find common ground and continue the show for the crowd of contrasting fans?

Song List:

  1. Cranberry Pop
  2. Rockcandy
  3. Time Shock
  4. Sugarcoat It (bonus song)

This mod contains the following tropes:

  • Creator Cameo: In a Cameo Cluster fashion, everyone that developed on the mod are featured in the background of the bonus song, "Sugarcoat It", when Sweet reunites with Sour after nearly leaving for good.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: After "Rockcandy", both musicians believe that the resulting song was bad enough to be a disappointment to their fans. Cue the "overwhelmingly positive cheering" that left the two in Stunned Silence.
  • Masculine Lines, Feminine Curves: Sour and Sweet respectively; Sour being depicted with sharp edges to his outlines, while Sweets got rounder, softer features to her design.
  • Motifs: In line with the Mod Jam this mod was made for: contrast. The lead characters are opposing flavors in both name and looks, their personalities makes for a Red Oni, Blue Oni dynamic, they're styled with the respective Masculine Lines, Feminine Curves, and their musical styles (EDM and Orchestra) are worlds apart.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: As Sweet leaves the stage in her bus, she laments how despite the fun she had tonight, she might never have another opportunity to afford to do this again, much less meet with someone like Sour again, implying she regrets just leaving Sour without saying anything. Then, Sour calls her via voice mail, convincing her to come back.
  • Painting the Medium: Just to further go with their contrasting styles, both Sweet and Sour have their respective styles featured in their notes and rating text.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Sour's the Red Oni, while Sweet's the Blue Oni. This is best showcased with their musical preferences in their songs, as well as the animations they display in the instrumental sections. Sour plays his EDM music with gusto, showing his confidence in body language form all the while wearing a bright smile. Sweet is more calm and reserved, conducting the orchestra with a wave of her wand, with her charting during said instrumentals consisting of holds and being less hectic.
  • Stunned Silence: After being Instantly Proven Wrong about their belief that the resulting song in "Rockcandy" was a poor showing with the audience's enthused reaction, both Sweet and Sour are left comically speechless for a moment.
  • Throw It In!: In-Universe. Both Sweet and Sour were called to the Showman's stage for their respective concerts, but because of a management mishap, they were accidentally scheduled to appear at the same time. And with it being difficult to reschedule and refund the ticket holders, it was decided to roll with the accident and re-brand the show as the Sweet & Sour Summer Mix, having both musicians perform to the unknowing ticket holders.
