The Crew, pocket-sized
Based on the popular manga EDENS ZERO from Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail, Rave Master), EDENS ZERO Pocket Galaxy is a top-down action-RPG title that released on the App Store and Google Play on February 24th 2022.
EDENS ZERO Pocket Galaxy provides examples of:
- Adaptational Early Appearance: Characters are able to Overdrive earlier in the story compared to the manga. Being a video game, it makes sense to have the super moves available to the player as soon as possible.
- Adaptation Expansion: While the main story is mostly a Compressed Adaptation, there are a number of points that are fleshed out:
- Shiki, Rebecca, and Happy directly interact with some of Norma's citizens before realizing they've been sent back in time.
- The crew's interrogation of Digitalis's citizens are shown instead of being summed up in a wordless montage.
- Alternate Timeline: The "Dream Corridors", according to Xiaomei, take place in different universes where the Edens Zero crew decide to stick around at the guild and go on more adventures and missions in the Sakura Cosmos, allowing them to do more than they do in the main story.
- Costume Porn: The game has a robust outfit customization system with over 100 outfits to mix and match, some of which were designed by Mashima himself.
