Fox Pledge Drive

After Homer rings the Chapel bell too loudly, an earthquake occurs, starting a flow of lava. Just as Homer and a native girl he calls "Lisa Jr." are about to be consumed by lava (presumably to their doom), the cliffhanger cuts to a Fox pledge drive hosted by Rupert Murdoch and Betty White (also featuring cameos of Hank Hill, Bender and Thurgood Stubbs among others pledging to the network), who urge viewers to keep crude, low-brow comedy programs such as Family Guy on the air. The episode ends after Bart pledges $10,000 to the network and saved it. This tied in to the start of the episode, where a Britcom he's watching on PBS gets cut short by the announcement of a pledge drive.
