Sabaton - "Hellfighters"

Sabaton's song "Hellfighters" tells the story of the US Army 369th Infantry Regiment. Originally formed as the 15th Infantry Regiment, New York Army National Guard, from mostly black and Latino volunteers from Harlem, NYC, their hard fighting and heavy casualties earned them multiple Croix de Guerre medals from the French Army (including one awarded to the regiment as a whole), one (posthumous and belated) Medal of Honor, and the nickname the "Harlem Hellfighters" (legendarily given by the Germans). The second verse of Sabaton's song about the unit focuses on their exploits during six months of unrelenting combat from the Second Battle of the Marne until the end of the Great War, noting the legend that none were ever taken prisoner nor did the regiment ever lose an inch of ground to German counterattacks. The song is by far the darkest and most brutal track on its album.
