- Executive Meddling: Like other Spanish comics published during the Francoist regime as Mortadelo y Filemón, Escobar had to deal with the censors of the epoch who were eager to suppress any thing who considered "subversive". For example instead of policemen there are gendarmes -who dress like Real Life ones of The '60s- as Don Ángel, one of the supporting characters.
- Carpanta suffered the same. Originally he was supposed to be someone starved, until censors forced Escobar to treat him as someone who simply was hungry on the grounds that nobody suffered starvation in that still-post-Civil War era Spain.
- Follow the Leader: It has been argued that the strip started out as a rather unsubtle rip-off of The Katzenjammer Kids before eventually growing into its own thing.
