• Ascended Fanon: Ziggy's finally gaining pants.
• Outlived Its Creator: Tom Wilson died in 2011. His son, Tom Wilson Jr., now draws the feature after collaborating with Dad for several years.
• Referenced by...: A sketch on Robot Chicken depicts Ziggy as an office worker whose boss decides to use silly putty to create living clay copies of Ziggy to increase productivity at the workplace. However, Ziggy's boss decides that the increased productivity isn't worth putting up with the many Ziggy clones' constant puns and one-liners and so he incinerates the Ziggy clones with fire...and also burns up the original Ziggy for good measure.
  Ziggy: Is this your way of telling me I'm fired?
  Boss: Gah! He used a fire pun! Burn faster!
