!!!Young Justice: The 90s Comics
* ExecutiveMeddling: The Bat-Editors constantly threatened to yank Robin from the book unless the writers obeyed their edicts on how he could be featured; most notably, Robin could not be used in any battle that took place in public, according to the "urban legend" policy in the Bat-books.
** This resulted in a couple of TakeThat jokes during a reality show story ("Did the all-concealing shadows just say ouch?"), including Robin creating the hero identity of "Mr. Sarcastic," a shaved-head ShoutOut to [[Comicbook/{{Transmetropolitan}} Spider Jerusalem]] (and possibly to Protector, a Robin expy created for 80's ''ComicBook/TeenTitans'' PSA comics when licensing contracts prevented the Boy Wonder's use).
* RecursiveAdaptation: The ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' cartoon was initially planned as an adaptation of ''Young Justice'', but the number of {{Legacy Character}}s was too much of a problem. The solution: ReVision the Wolfman-Perez Titans in the style of ''Young Justice''!
** And now we got a ReVision of ''Young Justice'' more in line with Geoff Johns' Titans. Make of that what you will.

!!!Young Justice: The Series
* ActorAllusion:
** Creator/JasonMarsden as [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII2 a time traveler trying to save the future.]]
** This isn't the first Khary Payton voiced an African-American character who is a hybrid human [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans who glows blue when he uses his power, or becomes the leader of a team]] [[spoiler:temporarily, and is TheMole]]. It's also not the [[VideoGame/DeusEx first]] [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots time]] he's voiced a DarkSkinnedBlonde.
** BenDiskin as a psychotic with idiosyncratic speech patterns (Harm) and who binds and gags a character voiced by Creator/LaceyChabert (Secret). [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Sound]] [[Comicbook/{{Venom}} familiar]]?
** Creator/JeffBennett continues a tradition of voicing British butlers to wealthy businessmen in GregWeisman productions, after [[{{WesternAnimation/Gargoyles}} Owen Burnett]] and [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Bernard Houseman]].
** ClancyBrown as King Faraday, [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan a blonde officer of the law in a Greg Weisman production]]. Alternately, Lex Luthor is a good guy this time around!
** Aquaman sounds like an American accented [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars Kit Fisto]], another hero with superpowers that leads an underwater battle.
** Creator/YuriLowenthal plays Icicle Jr, but this isn't the first time he's played [[{{WesternAnimation/WolverineAndTheX-Men}} a teenager with ice powers]] (except he's now a bad guy), nor is it his first time playing a WellDoneSonGuy [[Manga/{{Naruto}} on the villains' side]].
** James Remar, who plays Icicle Sr, is no stranger to voicing [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan aged prisoners whose child follows in his footsteps]].
* CelebrityVoiceActor: Woman Woman is voiced by MaggieQ.
* ExiledFromContinuity:
** Rocket and Icon have been prevented from appearing in the tie-in comics.
** Wonder Girl, until the legal issues were worked out for season 2 and beyond.
* FakeNationality: Despite the series using voice acting where this trope is less of a problem, this is actually averted more often than not. Hispanics are voiced by Hispanics, Asians are voiced by Asians...although one could argue that the effect is ruined when ''Lex Luthor'' has a better Japanese accent than the Japanese character voiced by an ethnically Japanese woman.
* FandomNod: In the series premiere, you have a citizen asking if Speedy is the Flash's sidekick, and when someone responds that he's Green Arrows, the first guy says "that makes no sense," echoing a fair amount of comic book fans who didn't get Speedy's name (especially those introduced to him in crossovers).
* FanNickname: "[[Anime/CowboyBebop Radical]]" Robin (for his very familiar hacking style).
** [[WesternAnimation/SouthPark "Batdad,"]] "Batdaddy," or "Daddybats" for Batman's surprising aptitude for being a [[TeamDad good parental figure]].
** "Kid Fate," for Kid Flash wearing the Helmet of Fate.
*** [[spoiler:"Fate Lad" and "Fatanna" for when Aqualad and Zatanna do the same.]]
** "Rolly" for the sphere that Superboy brought back from Bialya in "Bereft"
** "Rageboy" and "Emoboy" for Superboy's early [[TheBerserker anger management issues]] and his angsting about Superman ignoring him. But these are markedly toned down as the show progresses.
** "Angroy" for Red Arrow's anger at the whole sidekick thing.
** [[spoiler:"Aquabad" or "Mantalad" for Aqualad after his FaceHeelTurn]].
*** There's also [[spoiler:Manta II and Manta Jr]].
** "Mama Canary" for ComicBook/BlackCanary, who was TeamMom to the young heroes in season 1.
** Eduardo is also known as [[Anime/CowboyBebop Spike Spiegel]] in the fandom because of their similar looks.
** In the wake of [[spoiler: Arsenal]] joining up with the Runaways, fans have started calling dubbing the group "[[BatmanAndTheOutsiders The Outsiders]]" and "[[RedHoodAndTheOutlaws The Outlaws.]]"
** The Runaways aren't really called "The Runaways" in capital letters, but since the term is used both in dialogue and an episode title, fans have adopted it for that purpose.
* HeyItsThatVoice: [[http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/1255/yjactors.jpg Something]] Brandon Vietti put together and put on his blog to illustrate this.
** Marina Sirtis ([[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration Deanna Troi]], [[WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}} Demona]], [[VideoGame/MassEffect1 Matriarch Benezia]]) is Queen Bee.
** Creator/PhilLaMarr is Aquaman, Dubbilex, the Reach ambassador and Green Beetle.
*** And could give Aqualad a run for his money as a young, black, electrically-charged hero in his role as [[WesternAnimation/StaticShock Static]] (who does appear in the second season, though not voiced by [=LaMarr=]).
** Music/JesseMcCartney is Robin. This is the [[Franchise/KingdomHearts second time]] Robin has [[Creator/ScottMenville shared a voice]] with a [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia JRPG]] [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans protagonist]].
** Creator/KharyPayton is Aqualad.
*** [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Cyborg]] now has water powers.
** Creator/BruceGreenwood is Batman [[BatmanUnderTheRedHood again]], as well as Wotan.
** Creator/NolanNorth is Superboy, Superman, Zatara, Marvin White and Clayface, [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Cyborg]] is Aqualad, and Jason Spisak ([[DissidiaFinalFantasy Bartz Klauser]]) is Kid Flash.
*** Aw crap, you just gave [[VideoGame/FalloutNewVegas Vulpes Inculta]] SuperSpeed, didn't you?
*** [[Franchise/AssassinsCreed Desmond Miles]] and [[VideoGame/{{Uncharted}} Nathan Drake]] wish they were the Man of Steel.
*** He's also [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Tobi]]. Hmm... Tobi vs. Superman might be an interesting fight.
*** And moreover, this isn't the first time that Jason Spisak has voiced [[Anime/ZatchBell a teenage genius]]. Though Kid Flash is a lot nicer than Kiyo.
** ComicBook/GreenArrow and Psimon are voiced by Creator/AlanTudyk.
** [[Series/{{CSI}} George Eads]] plays another [[ComicBook/TheFlash police forensic scientist]]. He was also [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Captain Atom]].
** Red Arrow and Guardian (his uncle) are voiced by Creator/CrispinFreeman
*** Red Arrow also turns out to be [[spoiler:TheMole for an evil organization]]. Who later turns out to [[spoiler:be a ReverseMole]]. [[Manga/{{Naruto}} This is the second time he's been in that situation]].
*** This also is not the first time he's played a [[Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena red haired casanova.]]
** Creator/DannyTrejo is Bane.
** The BigBad of the pilot movie sounded a whole lot like a certain [[Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine shape-shifting security guard]] as well as the ''VideoGame/LegacyOfKain'' character Janos.
** Creator/JeffBennett is Red Tornado and T.O. Morrow, as well as Abra Kadabra ([[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold yet again]]) and Alfred ([[ComicBook/BatmanYearOne for the first time]]), as well as Red Torpedo and REd Volcao.
** Creator/JohnDeLancie is Mister Twister.
** Professor Ivo is [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueUnlimited Chronos]], [[WesternAnimation/TheBatman Dr. Langstrom/Man-Bat)]], and [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Doctor Octopus]]. Aside from that, his resume also includes being a [[AllyMcBeal lawyer]], an assistant to [[Film/DraculaDeadAndLovingIt Dracula]], and [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity the Mad Hatter]].
** Kent Nelson is voiced by Creator/EdwardAsner.
** Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson voices Martian Manhunter, Doctor Fate, Blackbriar Thorn, and John Stewart, though some may find it odd to hear [[WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries Kilowog's voice]] coming out of John's mouth.
** Klarion the Witch Boy shares a voice actor with [[WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}} Lexington]] and [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan the Tinkerer]].
** Miss Martian is voiced by Danica [=McKellar=] ([[TheWonderYears Winnie Cooper]], [[MarvelUltimateAlliance Invisible Woman]], [[XMenLegends Jubilee]]).
** Lord Kobra is [[Film/TheMummyTrilogy Imhotep]] and [[WesternAnimation/SupermanShazamTheReturnOfBlackAdam Black Adam]].
** ComicBook/BlackCanary and Red Inferno voiced by Creator/VanessaMarshall.
** L-2/[[spoiler:Ra's al Ghul]] is voiced by Oded Fehr, who voiced Dr. Fate in the original ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague'' cartoon and played Ardeth Bay in TheMummyTrilogy while his [[TheDragon Dragon]], Sensei, is voiced by KeoneYoung,
** Creator/MarkRolston is Lex Luthor.
** Creator/TaraStrong is Dr. Roquette.

*** Who was then [[TheOtherDarrin replaced]] by [[WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries Cosmic Boy]].
** [[Series/BattlestarGalactica2003 Michael Trucco]] is ComicBook/AdamStrange.
** Creator/CoreyBurton is The Brain.
** Creator/BrentSpiner is SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker.

** [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Cheetah]] is Amanda Waller.

** [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Roxas and Xion]] are Robin and Batgirl.
** Creator/GregWeisman himself is Snapper Carr.
** Creator/DeeBradleyBaker is Wolf, Blockbuster (a role he reprises from ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague'', albeit simply grunting and uncredited), and Dessad.
*** Also Felix Faust, a role he's [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold played before]].
** Miguel Ferrer ([[WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries Aquaman, Weather Wizard,]] [[WesternAnimation/TheBatman Sinestro]], [[Disney/{{Mulan}} Shan Yu]], [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Silvermane]], [[ComicBook/DCTheNewFrontier Martian Manhunter]]) is Vandal Savage.

** Creator/BillFagerbakke is Bear.
** In this universe, Lex Luthor is [[Film/TheShawshankRedemption the prisoner who wanted to hurt Andy Dufresne]]...as opposed to the previous universe, where he was a security guard at that same prison.
** Deathstroke is voiced by Creator/WentworthMiller in "The Fix" and then by FredTatasciore as of "Complications".
** Gregg Rainwater [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague reprises]] (kinda) his role as Longshadow.
** Creator/JaniceKawaye is Asami "Sam" Koizumi.
** Freddy Rodriguez ([[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Mas Y Menos]], [[WesternAnimation/GeneratorRex Cesar Salazar]], [[WesternAnimation/{{Kaijudo}} Hector Chavez]]) is Eduardo Dorado Jr.

** Creator/KeithDavid, a.k.a. [[WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}} Goliath]], finally makes his ''Young Justice'' debut as Mongul.
* IKnewIt:
** Artemis being the comic book villain Artemis Crock. (Because the only other DC characters named Artemis are a redheaded Amazon and the Greek goddess.)
** Six of the seven leaders of the Light being [[spoiler: VandalSavage, ComicBook/LexLuthor, Ra's al Ghul, Queen Bee, Ocean Master, and the Brain]]. What no one expected was [[spoiler:Klarion being the seventh one]].
** Cheshire being [[spoiler: Artemis's older sister]]. (Not in the comics.)
*** Also, Sportsmaster being [[spoiler: Artemis's father]]. (As in the comics.)
** Sphere being the [[spoiler: Super-Cycle]] from the ''Young Justice'' comics.
** M'gann's personality being [[spoiler: lifted from a TV series called ''Hello, Megan!'']]. (Hinted several times.)
** M'gann being [[spoiler:a White Martian]]. (As in the comics. Hinted even more than the above.)
** Guardian being [[spoiler: Red Arrow's uncle.]] (As in the comics.)
*** Sort of. [[spoiler: He's actually another clone of Roy Harper, programmed to think he's Roy's uncle.]]
** Prince Orm being [[spoiler:Ocean Master as revealed in tie-in comic issue #14]] (As in the main comics.)
** Conner being [[spoiler: the half-human hybrid clone of Superman and Lex Luthor]]. (As in the comics, though a RetCon made after the ''Young Justice'' comic series which included him.)
** [[spoiler: Starro]] being the tentacle organism found in Atlantis and being involved in the Light's plot. (Even though it wasn't named, nothing else fits.)
** Impressively, some predicted that [[spoiler:the term Sportsmaster used to describe Red Arrow, "Broken Arrow", in the episode "Targets" would be significant in the future. It was: "Broken Arrow" is a shut-down command implemented into Roy (TheMole) to retrieve information or to program him even further]].
** The fact that Season 2 [[spoiler: would start with a time skip]].
*** And once [[spoiler: an image of Nightwing was leaked, some people guessed a more specific number, namely 5]].
** Aqualad [[spoiler: quitting The Team and joining Black Manta]], and the reason for which being [[spoiler: Tula's death]]. (Because of leaked images of toy packaging.)
*** Also [[spoiler: The fact that he is working as TheMole for the heroes.]] (Because it seemed [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness too out of character]].)
** Artemis and Wally [[spoiler: have quit heroics for the time being to focus on college.]]
** M'gann's [[spoiler: penchant for MindRape leading to the end of her relationship with Conner.]]
** [[spoiler: Jason Todd was the second Robin and died during the five-year time skip.]] (Hinted at by Dick telling Tim, [[spoiler:"Don't die".]])
** [[spoiler:The Reach and Black Beetle]] being the Light's alien partner in Season 2.
** M'gann [[spoiler: confronts Kaldur and possibly [[MindRape Mind Rapes]] him.]]

** [[spoiler: Darkseid being a LastEpisodeNewCharacter.]]
** [[spoiler: G. Gordon Godfrey is Apokoliptian (or at least is working for Darkseid).]] (As in the comics.)
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming: ''Hoo boy!'' There's a lot of them. Pretty much every kind of ship naming convention was used in this fandom.
** Kid Flash (Wally West) and Artemis = Spitfire
** Superboy (Conner Kent) and Miss Martian (M'gann M'orzz) = [=SuperMartian=]
** Robin I, later Nightwing (Dick Grayson) and Zatanna = Chalant

* InternetCounterattack: 10 hours before it was supposed to air, DC Nation was mysteriously pulled from Creator/CartoonNetwork's schedule and replaced with HTTYD: Riders of Berk and JohnnyTest with no warning at all. Word got out and angry Young Justice and GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries fans began to rage on various forums and sites alongside one of the guys who worked on Green Lantern (and who had just done a USA Today interview talking about the show) and a newcomer whose very first short, Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld, was supposed to premiere the same day. In attempt to do damage control, Cartoon Network posted that DC Nation would be back in the January of next year... which didn't really improve matters due to the fact that the block had just come out of hiatus TWO WEEKS prior to this. As of October 14th, a petition has been made in an attempt to get the block back sooner and fans have begun to boycott the channel.
** UpToEleven with the announcement that ''Young Justice'' and ''WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries'' would not be returning after airing their current seasons. Cartoon Network and [=DC=] Comics were forced to issue a (bland, uninformative) statement less than three days in, while [=#SaveYJandGLTAS=] was trending on Twitter for about an hour the first Saturday morning.
* LyingCreator: Overlapping with ExactWords. Before the second season began airing, Greg Weisman stated that it would continue on minutes after the last season finale ended. While this is technically true, it is very misleading, since the scene that does take place right after the first season lasts less than a minute and is followed by a five year TimeSkip.
* NamesTheSame: Artemis' mother used to be a villain named Huntress. She's unrelated to ComicBook/{{Huntress}} of the Batman-related DC books. Her comics counterpart was created first (by some decades) and was renamed "Tigress" once the other was introduced.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** [[spoiler:In "Drop Zone", The Brain/L-6 was voiced by NolanNorth; in "Alpha Male", he was voiced by Creator/CoreyBurton.]]
** [[ComicBook/{{Shazam}} Captain Marvel]] is voiced by RobLowe in "Alpha Male" and "Humanity", he is then voiced by his RealLife younger brother Chad in "Secrets".
** Deathstroke had a very fast turnover from Creator/WentworthMiller to Creator/FredTatasciore.
** Rocket was voiced by MissKittie in "Usual Suspects," "Auld Acquaintance," and "Satisfaction," and Denise Boutte in "Intervention."
** Flash (Barry Allen) was voiced by George Eads in Season 1 and the Season 2 episode "Bloodlines", but was replaced by Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor for the finale.
** On a more minor note, the Tribune in the Rimbor court was voiced by Miguel Ferrer in "War", but he was replaced by NolanNorth in the finale.
** ''Young Justice: Legacy'' sees Creator/CreeSummer (Aquagirl) replace both Miss Kittie and Denise Boutte as Rocket, Eric Lopez (Blue Beetle) replace Creator/DannyTrejo as Bane, Creator/VanessaMarshall (Black Canary) replace Sarah Shahi as Killer Frost, Jason Spisak (Kid Flash) replace both Dave Franco as the Riddler and Logan Grove as Beast Boy, Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson (Green Lantern) replace Creator/DeeBradleyBaker as Blockbuster, and Danica [=McKellar=] (Miss Martian) replaces Alyson Stoner as Batgirl.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/TonyTodd, who's best known for playing villains, as the heroic Icon.
** Creator/JoshKeaton, who usually voices heroes such as [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Spider-Man]] and [[WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries Hal Jordan]], as the villainous Black Spider.
** Creator/KharyPayton, in addition to voicing the heroic Aqualad, voices the villainous Black Manta.
** Joker for Creator/BrentSpiner.
* PromotedFangirl: MaggieQ was a Wonder Woman fan when she was younger.
* RecycledSet: Or rather, recycled animation. The opening shot in episode 8 is lifted directly from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanUnderTheRedHood''. The building where The Team fights Clayface is the same one where the mobsters meet in the film.
** Red Arrow's apartment is also the same one from the climax of the film.
* RelationshipVoiceActor:
** Creator/YuriLowenthal-voiced Icicle Jr. fights with the Creator/CrispinFreeman-voiced Speedy. Huh... where have we heard these two voice actors [[Manga/{{Naruto}} do battle before]]?
** [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Roxas and Xion]] are working together again, this time as members of the Bat Family.
** "Denial" reunites three ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' alumni: Creator/JeffBennett (Brooklyn/Owen Burnett), Thom Adcox (Lexington) and Creator/EdwardAsner (Hudson).
** "Insecurity" reunite several actors from ''WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan'': Creator/LaceyChabert (Gwen Stacy), Creator/CrispinFreeman (Electro), Thom Adcox (Tinkerer), JeffBennett (Montana/Shocker), Creator/KellyHu (Sha Shan), Peter [=MacNichol=] (Doctor Octopus) and Creator/JoshKeaton (Comicbook/{{Spider-Man}} himself).
** Sportsmaster and [[Creator/DannyTrejo Bane]] are [[Film/ConAir Billy Bedlam and Johnny 23]].
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: In the US, Cartoon Network took ''over a year'' (January 2011 - April 2012) to air the 26 episodes of the first season (not counting a two-episode preview in late 2010). [[ShortRunInPeru Other countries even finished airing them]] months before the US did. In season 2, the entire DC Nation block got bumped to January 2013 with no warning near the start of October 2012, when it had only run for ''two weeks''. So that's two back-to-back, three-month-long hiatuses with only ''two episodes'' aired in between. This also affected ''GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries,'' and what's worse, none of the creators were told. They all found out from fans on Twitter. Even ''[=DC=] Nation itself'' wasn't told; they updated their official Facebook asking how viewers enjoyed the block, and ended up having to delete it after it was swarmed by confused and angry fans. The episode ''was'' released on [=iTunes=] the next day, and peaked at #2 on their sales charts before being pulled, ''and no one knows why.'' Both shows were replaced by ''Beware the Batman'' and ''Teen Titans Go!'' after finishing their seasons. Any explanation for that either? Nope.
** Paul Dini revealed on a [[http://io9.com/paul-dini-superhero-cartoon-execs-dont-want-largely-f-1483758317 Kevin Smith podcast]] that the toyline was indeed the reason for the cancellation. To be more specific, the show had a large female and adult viewership, and the network believed that only boy audiences were worth attracting because they were primarily the ones that bought toys. Kevin Smith [[ClusterFBomb responded]] by faulting the executives with cancelling the series "just because [they couldn't] figure out [their] job", pointing out that they had a large audience that would have been willing to buy merchandise if only they had considered selling something other than just toys.
* TalkingToHimself:
** NolanNorth voices both Superman, Superboy, and Zatara. The first two are justified since the latter is cloned from the former.
** Khary Payton voices both Aqualad and Black Manta. [[spoiler: Justified in that they're father and son]].
** Alyson Stoner voices both Bette Kane and Barbara Gordon.
** Danica [=McKellar=] voices both Miss Martian and Marie Logan. Which makes sense in a way since [[spoiler:Miss Martian based her looks and mannerisms on the latter.]]
** Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson voices four heroes: ComicBook/MartianManhunter, Franchise/GreenLantern John Stewart, DoctorFate, and Mal Duncan.
** Creator/KellyHu voices Cheshire, her mother Paula, and her baby daughter Lian.
** Red Arrow and Guardian ([[spoiler:both clones of Speedy/Roy Harper, according to WordOfGod]]) are both voiced by Creator/CrispinFreeman. This is played with in the episode "Salvage", where [[spoiler: the now-retired Guardian is one of the people who confronts Red Arrow]]. And as of "Satisfaction" [[spoiler:Speedy finally gets to talk with Red Arrow]].
** Creator/JasonMarsden plays both Impulse and The Atom.
* TechnologyMarchesOn: In "Image" when Superboy, Kid Flash and Robin wonder what "Hello Megan!" is that Miss Martian is referring to, Garfield Logan shows them an old videotape of the sitcom his mother starred in years before. Kid Flash snarks "Whoa, you still have VHS. Where's your 8 track?"
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Phil [=LaMarr=] originally auditioned for Aqualad, though he later agreed that Khary Payton was the better choice for him.
** Weisman has commented that Wonder Girl was declared off-limits too early in the development process to know if she would have made the final cut for the season one or not. For [[ExiledFromContinuity various reasons]] the character wasn't unavailable till season 2... after the five year time skip, so Wonder Girl II, Cassie Sandsmark, was used. Wonder Girl I, Donna Troy, stands out as the only one of the Teen Titans' "Fab Five" not to have speaking part in season one, and so thus far the only one not to appear at all. Weisman [[http://www.worldsfinestonline.com/WF/youngjustice/backstage/interview12.php later]] [[http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=17974 revealed]] that she had been part of the team during the timeskip and was actually intended to appear in the episode "Satisfaction", but the role had to be cut for time and budget purposes. She also would have used her later codename "Troia".
** Mary Bromfield (as "Sergeant Marvel") and Freddy Freeman (as "Lieutenant Marvel") were two other timeskip members that were meant to have a role, but could not be fit into the season. Mary was also initially meant to be in "Satisfaction", and a story involving the Marvel Family had to be scrapped from the tie-in comic in favor of focusing on the five year timeskip.
** The cliffhanger in the finale features [[spoiler:Darkseid]]. If only this show hadn't been canceled...
*** In addition, there were plans to introduce the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna, [[http://s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=18430 in season three]].
** Post-cancellation, GregWeisman, Brandon Vietti, and comic book artist Christopher Jones have been pitching various continuations, including TV movies, a spinoff show starring the Arrow family, an ''Earth-16'' comic, and even a crossover with Scooby-Doo.
** Both Icon and Rocket were slated for bigger roles during the "Invasion" story arc of the comic tie-in. However, they were written out after the first issue of the arc due to legal issues.
** While it was never decisively settled on, because Creator/CartoonNetwork only ordered 20 episodes for season two, Greg has said that if they'd been given more, there probably would have been an episode focusing on Zatanna.
*** The finale episode "Endgame" had some really great dialogue that was cut for time - including Lex Luthor being called out for [[spoiler:the Reach invasion]], Wally and Artemis discussing [[spoiler:an intended return to the hero life and balancing it with their normal lives (making Wally's fate at the end all the more tragic)]], and just in general some additional wrap-up that wasn't necessary but would have helped tie up loose ends a little better.
** Red Tornado also had an arc cut from the second season.
** The little girl whose father Artemis saves in "Insecurity" was confirmed to be Cissie King-Jones-- Arrowette of the original Young Justice comic book. Cissie would have become Arrowette in season 3.
** Greg has also said that they had future plans for Ravager/Rose Wilson, Deathstroke's daughter, although he would have to do more research on her before then.
** Furthermore, at the Young Justice panel in 2013, Weisman refused to comment on the status of things such as [[spoiler:Darkseid or Wally's death]], implying that there would have been future story arcs. The reason Weisman refused to comment is in the admittedly unlikely hopes that a continuation should arise.
** Apparently, the wasted use of the Injustice Gang members who didn't talk was because, in Greg's words, they ''literally'' didn't have the budget to spare - so Atomic Skull, Black Adam and Ultra-Humanite were TheVoiceless.

** [[https://twitter.com/Greg_Weisman/statuses/367861073430319105 Weisman has suggested]] that Kaldur isn't straight, though he hasn't directly confirmed it. What Kaldur's sexual orientation would be if not straight is not specified further.
** Greg also confirmed that Marie Logan in the show is either a lesbian or bisexual; when asked "is Marie a lesbian or bisexual", he pointed answered [[MathematiciansAnswer "Yes"]]. This was also deduced by sharp-eared fans who noted that Queen Bee (who caused Marie's death during the TimeSkip) was explicitly stated to only influence ''most'' men and ''some'' women, which Greg confirmed was indeed based on her victim needing to be sexually attracted to her for her powers to work on them. ''Unlike'' with Kaldur however, Greg's answer to the question above suggests that Marie isn't omni- or pan-sexual or another other less common orientation.

''Young Justice's'' LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters require loads and loads of actors. While they cut costs throughout the series by hiring actors to play multiple characters and not writing dialogue for every character present, they still have way more actors and characters than most similar series. During a panel at Anime Vegas, Creator/GregWeisman and Creator/YuriLowenthal explained how they got away with it: they took their retake budget and used it to hire more actors. The entire series was done without retakes. To compensate for this, they created what Lowenthal called a "walla library." Basically, they had every character actor get in the booth and record a series of grunts, fight sounds, exclamations, shouts of each other's names, etc. in a variety of different inflections, and stored them just in case they needed it during the sound mix, because they'd given up their retake budget.
