Cleanup of Talking To Himself to Acting For Two trivia. The deleted example most likely falls under Talking To Themself.

* ActingForTwo: Apocalypse and Xavier are both were voiced by Creator/DavidKaye.

* TalkingToHimself:
** In a rather literal example of this trope, during the episode Rogue is losing control of the powers she absorbed, Mystique and Cyclops talk to themselves while Rogue is transformed into them.
** In a more meta sense, any time Apocalypse and Xavier are talking to each other as both were voiced by Creator/DavidKaye.

** Fully {{Averted}} now by being available on Creator/DisneyPlus, albeit exclusively in the United States. Edits have also been made to several episodes across the series. For just one example, Sabretooth's assault on Rogue, Spyke and Kitty in the Season 1 episode "Spyke Cam" is changed in order to remove the animation of Sabretooth striking Kitty. As such, the scene awkwardly cuts from Kitty looking at her unconscious friends in shock, to the sight of her flying backwards and slamming into a tree.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Creators toyed with the idea of making Mystique nude like she was in the live action films, but he felt that Kids WB wasn't quite ready for that. An early design was for her to have AmazonianBeauty to make her look more physically imposing.
** At one point, Creator/GrantMorrison wanted to include Rogue in the team lineup for their run on ''ComicBook/NewXMen'', and indicated that they planned to base her appearance and personality on ''Evolution'''s interpretation of the character. Had this actually happened, it's possible that the canonical Rogue would have been brought more in line with Evolution!Rogue.
** Spyke was going to have braids, but the people in charge of productuon thought it looked too "gangsta" and it might frighten the children. His name was also going to be Armadillo.
** Some small details in "Walk on the Wild Side" suggest that the episode was supposed to air much sooner. For example Amara debuted in "Growing Pains", but doesn't start school until this episode.
** The planned fifth season was going to have Jean becoming the Phoenix, in addition to Scott becoming romantically involved with Rogue, however due to the show's cancellation, it was foreshadowed in the BittersweetEnding to the series.
** Creators wanted Gambit and Colossus in the show but there were too many heroes and not enough villains, so they were introduced as part of the Acolytes (also because they thought it would be fun to break tradition). Both were shown as ALighterShadeOfGrey and creators intended for them to make proper {{Heel Face Turn}}s and join the X-Men - a story that never got to be told in the series.
** Concept arts float around the net about possible appearances from Psylocke (as an agent of SHIELD) and Emma Frost (as a new student and member of the Inner Circle).
** WordOfGod is that they wanted to tell the story of how Professor X lost his legs and how he met Magneto. Apparently Boyd Kirkland didn't like the comic version and would have told something different.
** The [[RecursiveAdaptation comics based on the show]] were planned to have Mr. Sinister in Issue #10 before it was cancelled, and even had cover art for the character. Mr. Sinister was also considered for a possible Season 5 if it was renewed.
** Spyke's arc of his powers disfiguring him and eventually having to go into hiding was planned earlier, but the network didn't want the show to go there in the first couple of seasons (feeling it was too dark). It eventually happened in Season 3.
** It's quite possible that the fifth season would've continued the storyline that began in "Sins of the Son" as well as having Daniel meeting the X-Men for real, as foreshadowed in Kitty's dream in the penultimate episode of the series.
** In relation to the planned Phoenix saga for the series, the Shi'ar race, Madelyne Pryor, Bishop, Cable and Rachel Summers were also planned to appear in the fifth season as well as the possiblity of having Scott's father Corsair showing up.
