Trivia / World's Finest: Teen Titans

  • Awesome, Dear Boy: Mark Waid's motive for accepting DC's pitch/offer to do a World's Finest spin-off. He'd enjoyed writing the Teen Titans on the parent book, plus a spin-off would give him the chance to flex his continuity muscles and finally fill in some of the blanks of classic Titans history.
  • Dueling Works: With Tom Taylor's Titans. Taylor's Titans relaunch will showcase the older Present Day Titans in the wake of Dark Crisis and servings as the pillars of the Dawn of DC-era DCU. By contrast, Waid and Lupacchino's series is set in the past, focusing on the Teen Titans during their original iteration when they were still sidekicks and while the Justice League was at its peak.
  • Executive Meddling: Positive example. According to Waid, it was DC Editorial who pitched the spin-off rather than other way around. Waid was quickly and completely game, having enjoyed writing the Teen Titans during World's Finest.
  • Production Posse: Waid and variant cover artist Chris Samnee, of course, previously collaborated on Daredevil and other Marvel projects.
