  • Accent Adaptation: The Polish dub replaces the Range Rover HSE's navigation's Cockney accent and vocabulary with an east bank Warsaw one, which has similar connotations in Poland.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: For the first eight seasons, the show was filmed mostly in the UK. After that, parts of seasons were filmed in the United States. Beginning with the 2016-17 series/season, the show moved to California full-time. Many of the show's original fans hate the move and the shift to fixing up more American cars. The show returned to full-time UK production during 2021.
    • During that season, Edd claimed that Discovery found filming Edd's segments "too difficult" and wanted to de-emphasize that aspect of the show. Edd felt that would change the format of the show too much and announced his departure. He was replaced by Ant Antstead. However, Edd's concerns seem to have been jossed as Ant appears to be making his workshop segments in the same way that Edd did.
    • A small, but vocal minority, have made it known that they no longer enjoy the show for reasons that seem nit-picky. Reasons include the move full-time to the United States, the increasing size of the budget in each episode and scope of the project, and deemphasizing British cars (even though Season 15, as it's numbered in the US, has seen Mike and Ant work on many cars with British and European roots).
    • As Mike himself has said, they didn't work on that many British cars even in the early seasons. So those who claim that fewer British cars and more American cars have been the subject of newer episodes might be surprised to learn that most work has been done on Japanese, Italian and German cars over the history of the show.
