  • Creator Breakdown: Gus has been in and out of rehab and has been relatively quiet on social media after the death of his brother.
    • Creator Recovery: In an Instagram post, Gus said that even though 2020 was extremely difficult for him, he's ready to get back to making music to carry on his brother's legacy. That, and him adopting an adorable, friendly little cat called Blade helped him regain his focus. Sadly, according to Gus himself, he's been having to check himself back into rehab during 2021.
    • Myke Terry also went through a breakdown shortly after leaving Bury Your Dead. In an Instagram story, he said he spiraled into a depression that saw him turning to harder substances and even landing himself briefly in jail. Thankfully, he cleaned himself up, started a cooking career, joined Volumes in 2016, and ultimately got himself back on his feet.
  • Creator Killer: Volumes was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Mediaskare. When Volumes broke the news that Mediaskare didn’t pay them royalties for their first two albums, it destroyed the remaining good will Mediaskare had. Their name was already bad in music circles for poor treatment of young artists, and many of the bands on their roster either fell off the radar or broke up being hopelessly in debt to the label (As Blood Runs Black in particular called Mediaskare out directly for screwing them over). Thankfully for Volumes, they had enough of a fanbase to keep them on the radar so Fearless could sign them, and Mediaskare would quietly close their doors in 2018.
  • Creative Differences: Why Barr initially left. Relations with the rest of the band (Gus in particular) broke down so much he decided to leave. Gus’s departure from the band depends on whose story you believe. According to Gus, when Raad got full control of Volumes’ name and backlog of music he forced Gus out against his will. On the other side of the situation, some say Gus was kicked out due to his inability to shake his drug issues, personality conflicts, and his side project Yung Yogi splitting Gus’s focus. Either way, Gus’s departure from the band was certainly due to this trope.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: V Team.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Concept of Dreaming wasn’t saved when Volumes jumped ship from Mediaskare. The original version of "Serenity" also had a different guitar solo featuring Chris Letchford of Scale the Summit fame, but that was cut from the 91367 release.
  • Screwed by the Network: Volumes was one of Mediaskare’s biggest bands, but weren’t treated well by the label. As mentioned, Mediaskare failed to pay them royalties for their first two albums (both of which sold fairly well). After some legal wrangling, they re-released Via and No Sleep on their own label and got the payments that Mediaskare owed them and had the last laugh when Mediaskare closed their doors.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Vol/tures was a collaboration project between Volumes and the dudes in djent band Struc/tures. A teaser was dropped, but nothing came of it. Barr leaving Volumes in 2015 and Struc/tures going on indefinite hiatus seemingly killed the project before it got off the ground. Michael Barr did get a feature on Structures' 2021 EP, giving a glimpse of what could have been.
    • It was known that Volumes was working on a new album throughout 2019 with Gus and Farias still in the band. With the Farias brothers out of the band, it’s unknown what (if any) of their influence will be on the album when it drops.
    • A few tweets from Gus implied that he would have been okay doing vocals again with Barr, or even having three vocalists with him, Barr, and Terry. However, due to the nasty falling out Gus and Raad had officially put that possibility to bed.
