- Actor Allusion: The trainee doctors in "Bargain in Death", identified in the credits as Tom and Jerry, are played by Robin Nedwell and Geoffrey Davies. Contemporary audiences would have known them as medical students (and later qualified doctors) Duncan Waring and Dick Stuart-Clark from the sitcom Doctor in the House and its sequels.
- Missing Episode: An extended version of the ending was shot (and a still of the characters in skull makeup survives, as well as photographs of the prosthetics used) but was cut from all film releases and does not survive.
- Real-Life Relative: Daniel Massey and his sister Anna play Harold Rogers and his sister Donna in "Midnight Mess".
