  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Despite its age, the game still has a blossoming community that keeps the game alive and even created a source port that allows the game to run in modern systems. Unlike what some people think, this game is confirmed to be NOT an abandonware as evidenced by the replies that the community received directly from Microsoft.
  • What Could Have Been: A few examples.
    • A mission pack expansion, Metropolis Dawn, which added new units, maps, and campaigns for the other human factions, the Ghorkovs and the Taerkastens. The expansion was never released commercially, as the Canadian company that was supposed to publish it, Atztech, cut off all contact with the developers and disappeared from the face of the Earth. A complete albeit still unpolished version of it was uploaded to the internet early in the 2000's. The main UA community's domain name comes from it.
    • The Ghorkovs' Gigant was going to have a variant called the Gigant 2 which has different flight altitude under AI control. It can be found in the game files and in fact, still used by AI players in some single-player levels alongside with the normal Gigant.
      • As mentioned in the game's readme file, the unit was taken out purposefully by the developers since the difference between the normal Gigant was extremely marginal. "Canonically", the excuse given for the Gigant 2's non-existence was that they were all destroyed in an off-world combat against alien forces after the game's physical reading materials were released. Right.
    • A PlayStation port was outsourced to Climax Group and would've been published by Psygnosis. It was cancelled without ever being announced and its existence remained undiscovered until 2016, when builds of it were found in the sale of an old Climax lot.
