• Deleted Scene: A short one is included as an Easter egg on the latest DVD release.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: A slew of them, but the most major ones are Isaac Hayes as Jed, P.J. Soles (best known as Lynda in the original Halloween 1978) as Madge Cronin, and Robert Forster (Arthur Petrelli and Max Cherry) as Congressman Cummings.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Timothy Bottoms plays a character who fled the country as a protest of the Vietnam War. Bottoms would later play George W. Bush (who was famously pro-war) on That's My Bush! and the TV movie DC 9/11: Time of Crisis.
  • He also played the lead in the film version of "Johnny Got His Gun", which was made to capitalize on the popularity of the novel during the Vietnam War.
• Shout Out: Jed repeats the blind veteran's speech about being trapped under frozen bodies in a foxhole from Maniac Cop 2 almost exactly. The film "shattering" to black is also reference to City of the Living Dead.
