!!1995 Film:

* DoingItForTheArt: BruceWillis wasn't paid for the movie. His salary would have nearly doubled the film's budget, and he wanted to work with Gilliam badly enough that he opted for a cut of the box office receipts instead.
* DuelingStarsMovie: Creator/BruceWillis vs. Creator/BradPitt. This might be more of a retroactive example, as Pitt (while having found recent acknowledgements for his roles in Film/InterviewWithTheVampire and Film/Se7en ), wasn't nearly as big a star as Bruce "Film/DieHard" Willis at the time of the film's release.
* EnforcedMethodActing: BradPitt's nervous and rapid speech was aided by Creator/TerryGilliam not letting him smoke during shooting.
* ExecutiveMeddling: Averted. Universal gave Gilliam final cut hoping to avoid what happened with Film/Brazil.
* HeyItsThatGuy:
** The seemingly-unimportant lab worker whose circuitous plane trip will : doesn't he look like the Jerkass cop who Determinator persistently oppresses Gregory House, MD? But... it couldn't be him; neither of those characters are like the infinitely kind and patient hospital resident on that oddball medical series (yeah, a long time ago), which wound up being remembered for the increasingly-complex nutjob artifices inspired by its AllJustADream finale.
** Creator/ChristopherMeloni is playing a cop, again. With long hair for once.
** Done in universe by Dr. Railly, when she sees Cole in a photograph from WorldWarOne, which was the first step to convincing her that Cole may be from the future.
* HeyItsThatVoice: Arthur Dent is a future scientist! I mean present. Which is still the future in real life. Who better to consult about time travel than a frequent customer of the Restaurant at the End of the Universe who spent a relaxing holiday in his own planet's Prehistory for a couple of years?
* PlayingAgainstType: Along with Film/Se7en, one of the movies that helped Brad Pitt break out of pure pretty-boy type-casting. Also, Bruce Willis's character is notably more frail than what he usually plays.
!!2015 TV Series

* HeyItsThatGuy:
** Ryan Fletcher and Birkhoff are rivals for Meredith Sorenson's heart.
** Ethan Duncan is one of the Splinter team scientists.
