• What Could Have Been:
  • Before it was decided to make the film all-live, there would have been sequences where Long John would tell Jim animated tales of Reynard the Fox, in a similar vein to Song of the South.
  • As a part of their post-war restrictions, Great Britain would not allow any profits made by a foreign film studio on British soil to leave the country. As a result of this, all the money previous Disney films had made at the time could not be transferred to America. Walt decided to put that money to good use by spending it to make this movie. Had the restrictions been softer, this movie would never have been made.
