  • Approval of God: The Greatest Title Sequence I've Ever Seen, a video on the intricate practical effects for the title sequence of Alright On The Night's Cockup Trip, was seen and approved of by Chris Hart, the graphic designer for 21 years of the show's run, describing putting it together as, "a pain in the arse, but [...] also great fun to do".
  • He Also Did:
    • Tom competed on the third season of Only Connect in 2010 as the captain of the Hitchhikers, reaching the semi-finals before losing to eventual runners-up the Strategists. If they'd won the semi-final, they would've gone up against the Gamblers, a team featuring Jenny Ryan before she found fame as the Vixen on The Chase.
    • Tom also competed for a Christmas edition of University Challenge in 2022, and got to the semi-finals.
    • Tom was one of the hosts of the Sky One series Gadget Geeks.
    • He became the official UK organiser of Talk Like a Pirate Day in 2009 and also ran for the University of York student union president as Mad Cap'n Tom Scott. He won the election with almost 3000 votes, becoming the organisation's 48th president, despite submitting himself as a joke nomination! He later used the Mad Cap'n Tom Scott persona while running as a joke candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster constituency the following year.
    • He was also behind the "Actual Facebook Graph Searches" blog on Tumblr.
    • He cofounded the emoji-only messenger app Emojili with Matt Gray in 2014.
    • He's also made several web apps such as "Evil", which revealed the phone numbers of Facebook users; "Tweleted", which showed deleted Twitter posts; "What's Osama bin Watchin?", which inserted YouTube memes into an image of Osama bin Laden watching television, "Parliament WikiEdits", a Twitter bot that revealed whenever an IP address from the Houses of Parliament edited Wikipedia, and "Klouchebag", a spoof of the social media rankings site Klout which rated Twitter accounts according to "douchiness".
  • Never Work with Children or Animals: A chicken bites him partway through "These chickens save lives". Of course, this was not scripted.
Tom Scott: "Never work with animals."
