Trivia / Tom Sawyer (2000)

Go To

  • All-Star Cast: The vast majority of the cast are country music stars or (as in the cases of Betty White and Don Knotts) legendary actors.
  • Billing Displacement: The video cover, the trailer, and the cast and crew page on the official website proudly proclaim that Lee Ann Womack and Alecia Elliott voice Becky Thatcher and Amy Lawrence, respectively. While they do provide the singing voices, the truth is that Hynden Walch and Clea Lewis did all the dialogue. In addition, while Hank Williams Jr. performs part of the role of Injurin' Joe, for reasons unknown, Kevin Michael Richardson recorded some lines as well. The promotional material naturally neglected to mention Walch, Lewis, and Richardson as their names were not as marketable as the aforementioned country stars.
  • Non-Singing Voice: According to the promotional material for the film, Lee Ann Womack voiced Becky Thatcher. That wasn't entirely true. Womack only provided the singing voice of Becky, while voice actress Hynden Walch recorded her dialogue. The same was true for Alecia Elliott, who sang the role of Amy Lawrence while Clea Lewis was her speaking voice.
  • One-Book Author: Many of the country music singers in the cast have no other voice-acting (or non-musical) credits.
