Trivia / Tiny Tim

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Used in "Daddy, Daddy, What is Heaven like?" He uses his falsetto to sing the son's part, his baritone range to sing the father's part.
    • Also utilized in his version of "I Got You, Babe", though in a much more comedic fashion.
  • Colbert Bump: Became an overnight sensation after being featured on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
  • Creator Backlash: He hated "The Coming Home Party" on God Bless Tiny Tim (probably not coincidentally, it happened to be the most '60s-sounding song on the album).
    • He also loathed With Love and Kisses From Tiny Tim: Concert in Fairyland, an album scraped together from old demo tapes he'd recorded years earlier and released to cash in on his newfound fame.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: He considered Prisoner Of Love to be his greatest work.
  • Fan Nickname: "The Eternal Troubadour"
  • Fatal Method Acting: He suffered a heart attack while performing at a benefit show in November 1996. He died in hospital following this, after doctors tried for over an hour to revive him.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Much of his discography has become quite hard to find. The most notable example of course is his 1989 album Leave Me Satisfied, of which only a handful of vinyl copies exist and naturally demand very high prices online.
  • Missing Episode: The footage of his first heart attack was lost for over twenty years before it finally resurfaced in December 2019. You should only look it up if you're very morbidly curious.
  • One-Hit Wonder: He is best known for "Tip-toe Through The Tullips". Younger listeners may only be familiar with "Living In The Sunlight, Loving In The Moonlight" (due to its usage on Spongebob) which might make him a two-hit wonder in that regard.
  • Trolling Creator: While definitely an enjoyable album, Rock seems to have been created for the sole purpose of seeing how long Tiny's fans were willing to listen to songs stretched out to over twenty minutes.
