• Similarly Named Works: The movie shares its name with the subtitle of the tenth BIONICLE Adventures book.
• What Could Have Been: The movie was first conceived as a Found Footage film. Although it wasn't made as such in the end, you can see remains of the concept in the use of multiple handheld cameras by the characters and their instances of plot relevance.
• Word of God: According to Mark Dennis, the explorer (or "giant") was also rescued by his people but he was treated in a different room.
