• Edited for Syndication: When this episode aired on the Shining Time Station episode, "Washout", the opening scene where Edward and his crew wonder why Thomas hasn't shown up is cut, and as a result, the story begins during Bertie's first scene. This version of the episode was also novelized in the James in a Mess and other Thomas the Tank Engine Stories book. Fortunately, the full episode was released commercially on the James Goes Buzz Buzz VHS and DVD and aired on the Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales episode, "Splish, Splash, Splosh".
• Prop Recycling: Upper Brendam (the station where Bertie finally catches up with Edward) reuses the platform from Knapford.
