- Dyeing for Your Art: Sebastian Cabot used peroxide to bleach his naturally dark hair for the role of Pip. It stayed like that for six months after filming.
- Playing Against Type: Larry Blyden was a soft-spoken, bespectacled actor/director/producer, who went into Large Ham mode as Rocky.
- Prop Recycling: This episode reuses the slot machine from "The Fever".
- What Could Have Been: Mickey Rooney was the first choice for Rocky Valentine, but he was unavailable. He later played Michael Grady in "The Last Night of a Jockey". In Rooney's absence, Charles Beamount suggested that Rod Serling himself play Valentine, but he declined, and Larry Blyden was cast instead. Imagine how odd the Framing Device would have been.
