- Breakaway Pop Hit: While it's one of the less-remembered of their big hits, "The Happening" is still much better known on its own than as the theme song for the film of the same name (which starred Anthony Quinn).
- Breakthrough Hit: "When the Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes" in 1963 was their first Top 40 hit and their first major hit on the R&B chart (peaking at #2), then "Where Did Our Love Go?" the next year kicked their career into high gear by hitting #1 on both charts.
- He Also Did: The group somehow ended up doing the title theme song for the 60's Vincent Price spy spoof Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine.
