Trivia / The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Go To

  • Dummied Out:
    • It was planned for each of the buildings to randomly drop bonus items that resulted in rewards for collecting all in a set, however this was dropped.
    • Homer has a 'character unlock' image, complete with a quote, that cannot be seen in the game, as Homer is the default starting character.
    • Originally, Kirk was due to appear much earlier in the game, along with Gil and Jacqueline Bouvier. Before being included at level 37, the data for Kirk could be found in the app's coding.
    • The nerds actually have names and unlock messages; but for the whole event they only remained as NPCs that attacked houses and castles, and never became playable.
  • Referenced by...: Tapped Out itself has made a few appearances on the show:
    • In "A Tree Grows in Springfield", Homer, enjoying his new MyPad, tells Marge that it has awesome games like "Tapped Out", which he tries to bring up, only to see an "unavailable" screen featuring a repairman staring at a computer.
    • In "Labor Pains", Homer opens an app called The Simpsons Tapped Out, and he gets an "Your credit card has been charged $300" notice.
    • During the closing scene of "The Musk Who Fell From Earth", Elon Musk has the game displayed on a computer.
    • One comic has two Sideshow Bobs with the powers of Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl (long story) fight each other over Springfield, with the buildings looking how they look in the game. Gil even makes a cameo asking if anyone wants to buy donuts to speed things up. An editors note was added that name drops the game as well.
  • What Could Have Been: Bender was supposed to be a character to coincide with the "Simpsorama" crossover episode, but couldn't be added to the game because of rights issues. Despite this, he still makes a handful of crossover cameos during certain story events.
