Trivia / The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

Go To

  • Creator In-Joke: Aoife of the Shadows eventually features as a character. Michael Scott had written a novelization of The Children of Lir, an Irish fairy tale where Aoife is the villain.
  • Development Hell: The film rights to the series was bought by Australian-based production company AMPCO Films in 2012, with production set to begin in 2013. Since then, news has been scarce, with an update on 2019 saying the film would begin production in 2020 before news dried up yet again.
  • What Could Have Been: Michael Scott originally wrote the series with John Dee as the protagonist. Along the line however, he realised Dee was a better fit for the villain. It wasn't until he stayed in the Flamels' house that he realised Nicholas and Perenelle would do.
  • Write What You Know: Michael Scott is Irish, which explains the amount of prominent characters from Celtic mythologies - Scathach the shadow, Aoife of the shadows, the Morrigan (and her two sisters) and Ard-Greimne. He's also written on several myths and legends, and is well versed in folklore.
