• Creator's Favourite: After writing their death scene, Word of God is that Maurice was one of her favourite characters to write a character arc for; she even admits to being disappointed that the audience reaction to the character was relatively lukewarm and understated because of how much love she put into them.
• Creator's Pest:
  • The author has made it no secret that she despises Edelgard, due to her inability to see other people’s perspectives, her prejudices towards the Nabateans, and of her refusal to take responsibility for her and her "allies" actions, both in story and in the Crimson Flower route of the main game. She would explain in a comment on AO3 that for her, the moment Edelgard reached the point of no return was when she lied to her friends about the destruction of Arianrhod.
  • To a lesser extent, Lonato. Claude's dressing down of Lonato's motives for his rebellion are based on the author's own feelings. She even says in the comments that Claude's words would have been horrific "if he'd done it to a more sympathetic character", which the author does not consider Lonato to be.
• Outdated by Canon: This fic gives names to Counts Hevring (Fredrick) and Varley (Maximus) and the Agarthan impersonating Cornelia (Diado). These would be dated when the characters were named Waldemar, Grégoire, and Cleobulus respectively in Warriors: Three Hopes. Counts Hevring, Varley, and Gloucester's personalities as portrayed in this fic are also all overridden by the same game; Hevring is a psychopath here but a simple Smart Guy in canon, Varley is a General Ripper here but more of a Dirty Coward in canon, and Gloucester is a genuine snobbish asshole here but an honorable believer in noblesse oblige in canon.
• Word of God: The author has stated in replies to comments that Edelgard bearing the Crest of Flames is the only reason Lamine failed to Mercy Kill her with Bolting in chapter 73. She has also mentioned that German and Japanese are being used as stand-ins for the Agarthan and Almyran languages, respectively.
