  • Blooper: In "It Couldn't Happen Here", the photograph of Stratford-Baker found in his dead girlfriend's personal effects is actually a frame taken from Burnside's conversation with him at the end of the episode. Burnside's head is even partially visible at the side of the photo.
  • Died During Production: Series creator and head writer Ian Mackintosh vanished in a small airplane flight near Alaska, while series three was being shot. Three poorly regarded episodes were written to fill out the series, but the producers decided to end the show rather than turn it into a Franchise Zombie.
  • Playing Against Type: Richard Vernon as the stoic and intelligent C, a stark contrast to his better known, light-hearted roles as the eccentric Slartibartfast in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and dim-witted Sir Desmond Glazebrook in Yes, Minister.
  • Technology Marches On: Unavoidable from a series produced in the 70s in which, for example, mobile phones and computers didn't exist. Some of the plots that are kickstarted by not being able to contact an agent abroad just wouldn't work today.
