* ActorAllusion: One episode has Penny communicating with a tiger similar to Film/DrDolittle. Her voice actress Creator/KylaPratt played the daughter of the famous doctor in the modern film version, who also inherited his gift in a later sequel.
* BadExportForYou: The movie was originally aired in widescreen and later cropped for fullscreen. The DVD uses the fullscreen version.
* CompletelyDifferentTitle: In France, it was titled "Cool Attitude".
* HeAlsoDid: A decade before the show debuted, Bruce W. Smith was the director and production designer for ''WesternAnimation/BebesKids'', notable for being one of only two animated features to star a predominantly black cast (he'd later animate for [[Disney/ThePrincessAndTheFrog the other one]]).
** After this show ended, Bruce Smith and his production studio, Jambalaya, moved onto Warner Bros. to make the [[ClicheStorm notorious]] short-lived series ''WesternAnimation/DaBoomCrew'' and [[CreatorKiller that was the last anyone heard of them]].
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: TheMovie is only available on DVD, and while the first season of the series is available on iTunes, Creator/{{Disney}} has no plans for any other releases.
** Even moreso is the original pilot. It was rarely shown and it is very hard to find images of it online.
* NoExportForYou: The show hasn't aired in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Poland and Turkey, despite the crossover episode with ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'' having aired in those territories.
** MarthDebutedInSmashBros: The series never aired in Russia either, but the movie did... over 10 years after it originally aired in the US.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The show was initially pitched to Creator/{{Nickelodeon}}.
** In the original pilot, Dijonay's name was "Delinquinetta".
* WriteWhatYouKnow: Creator Bruce W. Smith based Oscar and Penny on his own experiences as a father.
