• Executive Meddling: The original movie was created to be entirely a self-contained story. The distributor, however, added on Book Ends and a Framing Device and a Narrator, changing it to a story told to kids in a foster home in order to impart morals. Morals that were already in the original story and flowed more naturally from the story itself.
• Fake Nationality: It's very obvious that the actor playing Huko, the child king, is not Thai like the people he leads.
