• Meaningful Release Date:
  • Chapters 19 and 20 were released on the 3rd anniversary of Meggy's Destiny, SMG4's first movie.
  • Chapter 30 was released on March 10th, 2023, which is "Mar10 Day".
• Trolling Creator: The author says in Chapter 12's DeviantArt description that Mr. Grizz will most certainly not be making an appearance in the story... but the way it's written, it becomes clear that he has plans to use the character after all. Sure enough, Mr. Grizz becomes an antagonist in Chapters 15 and 16.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Chapter 5 was originally going to have Meggy bring up the possibility of a Splatoon gardening game in light of the success of Super Luigi Gardening, but the author cut it for spacing reasons.
  • During the fight with Mr. Grizz in Chapter 16, the author considered having DJ Octavio participate (similar to Splatoon 3), but decided that him allowing use of his technology was enough.
  • Chapter 26 initially mentioned that parody law was a thing in Australia... but since this story—let alone the SMG4 series—doesn't take place in Australia, this was left out.
  • Well before the author wrote for Chapter 30, which takes place during the events of "Goodbye, SMG4", he considered having a Nintendo employee, who's a Mario fan, write a fanfic of SMG4 based on the occurring events. Lawyer Kong would comment on the story... unaware that the fanfic would be distracting him from Mario's sneakiness for a brief time. This ended up not being used.
  • Among the challenges from War of the Fat Italians 2022 that were omitted from this fic's verson of them, one that almost made it in was "Who can survive being with clones of yourself the longest?".
