- Executive Meddling: In the original draft, the plot was going to be resolved by The Great Gazoo showing up and transporting the Flintstones back to their own time. However, this ending was changed when Joe Barbera found out how unpopular that character was and demanded a rewrite.
- What Could Have Been: A sequel, titled The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones Again, was in development in the early 90's as part of the Second round of the Superstars 10 and would have involved Elroy's time machine transporting both families to Ancient Rome. (Supposedly, meeting The Roman Holidays.) While this one never got produced the other Flintstones project of that set of ten did, A Flintstones Christmas Carol.
