• Children Voicing Children: The five main kids in the special are voiced by actual children.
• What Could Have Been: Bradbury originally wrote the special with close personal friend Chuck Jones in mind to direct, but MGM closed its animation studio, where Jones was set up, before it could be filmed. Bradbury then adapted it into a novel, and later planned another version with Jones, now working as an independent. That too went nowhere.
