• No Adaptations Allowed: Graham received several offers to make The Film of the Book, but refused on the saying they wanted to focus on the gore aspect.
• Write What You Know: Aside from studying criminal psychology, Graham once worked for companies associated to the Catholic Church as a business consultant. According to him, he came up with novel while talking to a friend who was a Vatican protonotary apostolic and knew a lot about heretic manuscripts. (It is worthy to note that Graham has gone to claim a lot of the plot of his book is real.)
