• All-Star Cast: You got Pete Davidson, Woody Harrelson, and John Goodman in the title roles. Plus, Tiffany Haddish, Phil LaMarr, Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Lala Anthony, and Liza Del Mundo in the supporting roles.
• Playing Against Type: John Goodman as Fat Freddy, he uses an unusually high-pitched, nasally voice for the character, that sounds very different from his usual Big Guy voice.
• Saved from Development Hell: A screen adaptation of the original comics spent decades in Development Hell. Before this series premiered, the closest thing they had to one was an unfinished stop-motion film from the early 2000s. The production, which was mostly done in Great Britain, was halted because the producers could not secure proper funding. There was also a 60-minute unauthorized porn parody called "Up in Flames," which also crossed over (sort of) with another (also unauthorized) counterculture comic icon, Robert Crumb's Mr. Natural!
