• Dark Horse Victory: The movie opened in mid-September 2021 with a box office take of $2.7 million and while Jessica Chastain's performance was praised, the film itself only got a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes and mostly forgotten by critics at year's end. Thus, when the Oscar season began, Chastain wasn't exactly in the main conversation with the focus on more notable performances like Kristen Stewart in Spencer. It wasn't until Chastain won the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Actress that she was suddenly seen as a contender, leading to her winning the Oscar.
