Trivia / The Eltingville Club

  • Artist Disillusionment: The 2016 collected edition of The Eltingville Club reveals that Evan Dorkin gave up on the stories after the rise of the internet revealed to him that the toxic fan attitudes the comic satirized were more widespread, and even worse, than he had imagined.
  • Word of God: When on asked on Twitter about what happened to the four after the last story, Dorkin revealed that Jerry would be (mostly) okay, struggling to deal with anxiety issues that worsened after the disastrous reunion with his former friends, but would attend therapy and go on to continue playing Magic the Gathering tournaments while having a significant other.
    • As for the other three, he offered "one set of possibilities" as to what would happen to them:
      • Josh doesn't become a comics editor, but he'd inherit his childhood home and die decades later of a heart attack like his mother.
      • Pete would become a registered sex offender after an incident with an underage fan and would later die of an overdose at the age of 36.
      • Bill would still be living at home and remain the dysfunctional mess he'd always been, getting by selling stuff online and dying alone and unloved, with his only social contacts being "other anonymous message board shit-posters who never even noticed he was gone because they spent the week he died railing about Batman and casting choices for a movie based on toys".
