• What Could Have Been: Discussed. Frank and Ollie talk about how when they were making The Jungle Book (1967), they originally thought King Louie should have acted more surly, or possibly even abusive and unreasonable with Mowgli. But the more they worked the sequence out, the more they realized the character would come off better if he was a literal party animal and easily distracted prankster instead of a real villain. The 2016 remake presents a version of Louie more in line with this original plan.
